Rehearsal During Faith Formation

As a reminder, all the children who will be celebrating First Communion in the upcoming weeks will be practicing their job that they will be doing at their mass during Faith Formation classes this week (April 30 and May 2).   Practicing this job ahead of time really helps to make the actual First Communion rehearsals go much more smoothly and quickly.  Please make every effort to attend Faith Formation this week.  Parents do not need to stay for this practice.  Thanks!

First Communion Rehearsals

As a reminder, First Communion rehearsals are as follows:

May 5 11:00 Mass   Rehearsal is Thurs., May 3 at 6:30

May 12 11:00 Mass  Rehearsal is Tues., May 8 at 6:30

May 12 2:00 Mass  Rehearsal is Thurs., May 10 at 6:30

The child celebrating First Communion and at least one parent MUST attend the rehearsal the coincides with your scheduled First Communion mass.

Please remember to bring healthy snacks for Thomasboro Elementary and monetary donation for flowers to the rehearsal.  Please arrive early so we may start on time.

First Communion Interviews

This is to remind the families in the first Sacraments program of the upcoming First Communion interviews. Interviews will be conducted on Thursday, March 22 from 5:00-7:00 and Saturday, March 24 from 10:00-12:00. Please come at the time you selected on the interview sign-up sheets. Check-in will be in the Family Life Center.

Please bring the child's completed book and worksheets to the interview.

First Communion Retreats Reminder

This is to remind families with a child celebrating First Communion in May of the upcoming retreats.

The child who will be celebrating First Communion and at least one parent MUST attend one of these mandatory retreats. Please plan to attend the retreat on the date that you indicated as your first choice on the green sheet that was turned in back in January. Please bring three pieces of felt and a sharp pair of scissors to the retreat. Please arrive 15 minutes early to allow time for check-in. We will begin promptly at the times shown. There will be no make-ups scheduled for this retreat. Failure to attend one of these mandatory retreats will jeopardize your child's placement in the sacrament preparation program.

Green Sheet and Picture Reminder

The green sheets with date choices for the First Communion retreat and mass are due by Wed., Jan 25, however that date will be extended to Sun., Jan 29th. Although we have not had Faith Formation classes for two weeks, the sheets may be put in the box on the counter outside the Faith Formation offices when you come to mass on Sunday. Please note that the May 5th First Communion mass is closed. Please only choose May 12th at 11:00 or 2:00. Also, if you have not yet turned in a wallet sized picture of the child who will be celebrating First Communion, you may place that in the box as well. Please be sure that the child's full name is on the back. The poster will be assembled and hung up next week. Any pictures not received by Sun., Jan 29th will not be displayed.

First Communion Parent Meetings

This is to remind families with a child who will be celebrating First Communion in May of the upcoming parent meetings. At least one parent needs to attend ONE of these MANDATORY meetings. These meeting are for parents only. You will be receiving materials to work on to prepare for First Communion at home. You will also be given important program and specific First Communion mass information at this meeting. Failure to attend one of these meetings will jeopardize your child's placement in the first sacrament preparation program. Please arrive at least ten minutes early to allow time for check-in. First Reconciliation

The First Reconciliation Celebration is scheduled for this Saturday, November 19 at 10:00 AM. The children may bring an Act of Contrition written on paper with them if needed. The children should examine their conscience at home so they are prepared to speak to the priest. Please arrive by 9:45 to allow time to check in. We will begin promptly at 10:00.
